A better view, a fuller answer

Follow-up questions focus on useful details still missing from your photos. A model or label close-up may help when there’s more to read; details already visible and markings that aren’t there should not mean more questions. The “Anything else?” input also keeps notes, camera, and photo library together. Follow-ups and technical retries for the same item are included in its check.

What can I check with Tag Check?

Start with a secondhand item you can photograph: furniture, homeware, clothing, collectibles, and other thrift or estate-sale finds. Clear photos and identifying details help. Some items won’t have enough reliable comparable evidence for a useful estimate.

Where do the estimated prices come from?

Tag Check uses AI image analysis and live online research. It is designed to prefer recent sold or completed listings when available, but it cannot verify that a source is accurate or describes an equivalent item. Asking prices are not completed sales. Your item’s tag price is compared with the AI estimate; it doesn’t set the estimated range.

Do follow-up questions use more checks?

No. The original check covers refining that same item with follow-up answers, notes, and more photos, as well as technical retries. Checking a different item uses another check. Deleting an item doesn’t return its used check.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

Yes. An account keeps your finds and check balance together, and an internet connection is needed for identification, online research, and syncing your collection. Use email, Google, or Apple sign-in where available.

Are my photos and finds public?

No. Your collection is private to your account. Photos and the item information you submit are processed by our cloud and AI providers to deliver the service. The app also uses analytics, crash reporting, and performance diagnostics. Read our Privacy Policy for details and deletion options.
